OBJECTIVES

The Computational Structural Mechanics Association (CSMA) federates the French community of structural mechanics and it organizes the national conference in structural mechanics every two years since 1993, on the Giens peninsula, in the Var region.The conference brings together researchers, theoreticians, computational engineers, software developers and industrial partners to review the state of the art on the major axes and on the emerging themes of the field.

Commitment to sustainability, equity and inclusion

The organizers want the CSMA 2024 conference to be an enriching and intellectually stimulating experience for all.

Presentations will take place in thematic sessions and in specific symposia. Oral presentations and posters sessions are organized.

On site registration opens early morning, on 13 May 2024, and:

  • the conference starts on Monday (May 13) at 1:30pm (the Monday lunch is provided)
  • the conference ends on Friday (May 17) at 2pm after the lunch
  • registration includes all the fees: 4 nights from Monday to Friday, meals and coffee breaks
  • if you wish additional nights at the Belambra before or after the conference, you should contact the Belambra directly through its website

Informations

  • May 6 : one week away from the symposium reminder of important information
    • For your arrival and departure from Toulon station:
      • Bus timetables are shown on the home page and Useful information page.
      • In line with MESR directives limiting air travel to journeys of less than 6 hours, there are too few of you coming by plane for us to have set up shuttles to and from the airport..
      • For the return journey, a survey has been launched to reserve a seat on one of the 2 buses to Toulon station: seats will be allocated according to the number of responses received, until all available seats have been filled.
      • In the Useful Information page, you'll find links to the timetables and routes of the Réseau Mistral buses..
    • The colloquium organizers have made major commitments to sustainability, equity, and inclusion, outlined on the Commitments page... In particular, to reduce the symposium's carbon footprint (see the Eco-responsibility page)
      • No paper printouts of the program will be provided: all program information is available online on the website via the Detailed agendaBooklet, or Authors list
      • Goodies will be local products and will not include bags, pens, notepads, USB keys, etc. Remember to bring these items if you need them,
      • Water fountains will be available, but no cups or plastic bottles: please bring your Ecocup or water bottle (neither of these 2 items will be provided).
    • For oral presentations, you'll have access to Windows computers equipped with the usual tools (Microsoft Office, Libre Office, Acrobat Reader, VLC, and, of course, antivirus software). We strongly encourage you to use these computers and to hand in your presentations during the breaks before your presentations via USB key.
    • For posters, we'll be providing panels measuring 2 m high by 1 m wide: we therefore advise you to use A0 format. We'll provide all you need to fix the posters in place.
  • April 8: confirmation of shuttle schedules for Monday May 13 and Friday May 1
    • Departures from Toulon station on Monday, May 13 for the Belambra are scheduled for 11:45 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
    • For Friday May 17, two shuttles will leave at 1:30pm from the Belambra reception. A reservation list will be available soon..
    • In addition to the shuttles, participants can use the Réseau Mistral buses (https://www.reseaumistral.com) to get to the Belambra.
  • 29 Feb: 2 buses are scheduled for late morning (probably around 11:45) and early afternoon (probabaly around 1:30pm) on Monday May 13, departing from Toulon railway station towards the Belambra
  • 4 Dec. : the reviewing process of submitted papers has begun this week! Replies to authors will be made at the end of January 2024.
  • 1st Dec. : papers submission remains open until Dec. 31, 2023. For papers submitted after Dec. 1, reviewing will be proposed as they arrivee. 

Reminder: registrations are open with early-bird rates up to March 17, 2024:
            Seniors : 1250€
            Students : 750€ (please provide a proof of student status for 2023-2024)
