The LMPS is a Joint Research Unit (UMR 9026) of the University of Paris-Saclay, CentraleSupélec, ENS Paris-Saclay and the CNRS. Created from the merger of the Laboratoire de Mécanique et Technologie (LMT) and the Laboratoire de Mécanique des Sols, Structures et Matériaux (MSSMat), it was officially established on 1 January 2022. This new research unit, dedicated to research into all aspects of solid mechanics (mechanics of materials and structures, civil engineering, fine experimentation and high-performance numerical modelling), aims to contribute to meeting the challenges in the strategic areas of developing clean, safe and efficient energy, sober management of resources and adaptation to climate change, sustainable transport and urban systems, reliability of complex systems and industrial renewal.

Inaugurated in January 2015, the SAFRAN Group's Research & Technology centre, Safran Tech, pools expertise and fosters the emergence of new technologies. This research centre, entirely dedicated to Safran, ensures the future competitiveness of the Group, which operates in highly technological fields. Its activities currently account for 1/4 of the Group's Research & Technology effort.
